Our friend and MS Support Chat
Room member, Rick Bone,
(Beatlerick2) has just released his
first CD to support MS research for
a cure!  A professional musician
during the '70s and '80s, Rick
initially gave up his music career
back in 1983 to raise a family.
Before that job was done (is it ever,
really?) he was diagnosed with MS
in 1999, which progressed to the
point he was forced on disability in
2001.

Rick became very depressed over
the loss of many things, as we all
do, but especially over his inability to
create and sing his music.  For anyone with a passion, to lose it is tantamount to losing a huge part
of oneself.  We also must compensate for changes in our methodologies as well as adapt to
changes forced by MS.

For a long time, Rick was convinced he could never sing or play again - especially at the level he did
before MS.  He couldn't feel his guitar strings because of the numbness in his fingers, he couldn't
be in his studio long due to MS fatigue, he wasn't able to write songs and music due to MS cognitive
loss, and he felt his voice quality was forever impaired.  I am one of his friends with MS who knows
we can do far more than we sometimes believe if we just try.  I also knew how beautiful his voice
was and is, and have urged him, scolded him, begged him, and even at times yelled at him to get
back into his music!  At long last, he has.

His music is wonderful - songs about our lives with MS to which we can all relate!  Like any true
artist, the need to capture and pour out his feelings in his music overcame his fear of failure. Rick
has honored myself and a few others this past year by sharing the songs with us as he wrote and
fine tuned them.  The CD reflects the professional skill, care and quality that Rick has always put
into his music...  and let me tell you - he has still got it!

Rick was truly a one man studio and a one man band when he recorded
MonSter, and 99% of that
CD is 'Rick Original'.  Though he still uses an electronic drum machine, plays bass and guitars,
writes his own music, sings his own songs which he records on an 8-track portable digital studio,
Rick now collaborates with others, including professionals, who realized his talent and his music's
worth.   For every song Rick writes, he must record as many as 8 times, then mix and overlay those
tracks to produce the full band sound, so every song takes him exponentially longer than before his
MS.  Even with the collaborative efforts, even with some of the pre- and post release effort spread
among his friends and supporters, every song and every CD takes it physical toll.  That's what MS
does:  for every joy we expend physical and mental effort to grasp, we pay the price in extreme
fatigue and often serious illness.

His just released CD
MS Blues, containing 12 songs, was produced by Scott Rose. The CD can be
purchased for $10.00.  The other artists and writers are donating their time and contributions to help
support our cause.  Two dollars from every CD will go to MS research. It has 12 songs.  Debbie
Kelson again did the cover art for both CDs and even sings a song on the MS Blues; she co-wrote 2
others. Scott Rose co-wrote on 2 songs and plays on 3 others.  Richard Anderson of New Zealand
co-wrote a song and his friend, Chris Szkup, plays lead on the song. Rick's 14 year old son, Dylan
Bone, plays bass on a track. Copies can be obtained through the Pay Pal links on this site, through
CD Baby.  For more information, or to discuss other forms of payment, please email the
RickBoneFanClub@gmail.com.

Remember Rick is donating $2.00 from the sale of each CD to MS research.  Please help Rick by
purchasing his CD and then letting him know how great his talents still are so he will keep on
producing and performing for us!  Spread the word about the CD to your friends as well.  It's for a
great cause - it's for us!

To order the CD
MS BLUES email RickBoneFanClub@gmail.com.  The CD costs $10.00 which
includes shipping.  Payment via PayPal™ is preferred, but Money Orders will be accepted.

The back cover of
MS Blues and both CD front covers were designed by Debbie Kelson who has
MS, and also wrote the lyrics to
MySterious Demon on the MonSter CD.  The MonSter CD back
cover was designed by Dylan Bone.

MS CHAT MEMBERS NOTE:  Proceeds from the download sales of our song "How Long" will go
directly to defray expenses to help keep our
MS MAILS and MS Chatters web site online.  Everyone
involved with this endeavor, but especially Rick and myself as members of our support group,
donate our time and fund the bulk of our efforts with our own money.  Every little bit extra really
helps.  Plus, like all Rick's songs,
How Long is beautiful.

Please help us spread the word.  Thank you so much,

Lin Sarnecki

"How Long Will You Stay?".
